Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy massage combines the experience of massage with selected scents or essential-oil products. At The Path to Wellness in Tulsa, the scent should be a preference you discuss, not an unavoidable part of the appointment. Some guests enjoy fragrance while others find it distracting or uncomfortable. The most suitable service respects both the bodywork you want and your response to scent.
Choose the experience before choosing an oil
Explain whether you want a relaxing full-body visit, gentle pressure, or attention to a particular area. Ask which products are available and whether they are used on the skin, in the room, or both. Do not assume an oil is included because a massage is described as holistic. Confirm the ingredients and application with the therapist before treatment starts.
Tell the team about fragrance sensitivity, asthma, migraine triggers, skin reactions, pregnancy, and any medical advice about essential oils. A familiar scent is not automatically suitable for every guest. If you have concerns, ask about a fragrance-free massage. You do not need to accept an oil in order to benefit from a comfortable massage experience.
What a session involves
Before beginning, discuss the massage pressure, areas included, draping, and product choices. Ask how the therapist will respond if a scent becomes too strong or a skin product feels irritating. Your consent applies to the product as well as the bodywork. You can request that either be changed or stopped.
During the appointment, report skin burning, breathing discomfort, headache, or nausea promptly. Do not wait until the session ends because you think a reaction is part of the treatment. Afterward, ask for the name of the product used if you need to discuss a reaction with a healthcare professional. A relaxing scent should not be described as evidence of toxin removal or treatment of an underlying disease.
Evidence and repeat visits
The NCCIH aromatherapy overview describes its use with massage and notes research limitations. Enjoying a fragrance does not establish a medical effect or guarantee improved sleep.
There is no required course of aromatherapy massage. Decide whether to return based on the comfort of the experience, your response to the products, and your goals. If a scent was unpleasant, discuss alternatives instead of assuming you must become accustomed to it. Persistent symptoms or recurring skin reactions deserve appropriate healthcare advice.
Duration and pricing
General massage reference rates are $100 for 60 minutes and $150 for 90 minutes, with a 30-minute option at $65. Contact the practice to confirm whether aromatherapy is available with the appointment you choose and whether any product or specialty-service charge applies. The reference rates are not a separate published aromatherapy quote.
Aromatherapy questions
Can I choose an unscented appointment?
Ask before booking so the team can explain available products and room arrangements.
Does natural mean allergy-free?
No. Share known sensitivities and ask about ingredients rather than assume an essential oil cannot cause a reaction.
Must the scent stay the same next time?
No. Revisit product preferences and suitability at each appointment, particularly if your health or sensitivities change.
Practitioner and booking details
Ask which massage professional is available and explain the type of appointment you want before selecting a time. Our practice director is Teresa Wilkinson, RN, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, as described on the About page; availability and professional roles vary by service. Confirm your therapist, appointment length, and full price in the booking menu.
Call 918-494-0082 or compare the massage therapy options before booking. We are at 6125 S. Sheridan Rd, Suite E, Tulsa. Tell the team about recent procedures, injuries, pregnancy, and any medical restrictions so you can discuss suitability first.
